France
- FS Charles de Gaulle: 40,600 tons nuclear powered, commissioned 18 May 2001
PA2 (Porte-Avions 2) is a planned new aircraft carrier developed for the French Navy by Thales Naval France and DCN from the Thales UK/BMT design for the future British aircraft carriers CV(F). The vessel will displace approximately 65,000 tonnes,

Under Construction
- Vikrant class aircraft carrier (Indigenous Aircraft Carrier): 37,500 ton aircraft carrier. It is being built at Cochin SY, southern India, and is expected to enter service in 2011.

- Giuseppe Garibaldi (551): 13,850 tons Italian STOVL, commissioned september 1985.
- Conte di Cavour (550): 27,100 tons Italian STOVL, commission date 2008.
Russia
- Admiral Flota Sovetskovo Soyuza Kuznetsov: 66,000 tons Admiral Kuznetsov class STOBAR aircraft carrier. Launched in 1985 as Tbilisi, renamed and operational from 1995.
Spain
- Principe de Asturias (R11): 13,400 tons, STOVL, commissioned 30 May 1988.
Thailand
- HTMS Chakri Naruebet: 10,000 tons multi-role carrier based on Spanish Principe De Asturias design. Commissioned 10 August 1997. Though remains predominantly inactive due to lack of funds.
United Kingdom
- HMS Illustrious (R06): 20,600 tons Invincible STOVL class aircraft carrier, commissioned 20 June 1982
- HMS Ark Royal (R07): 20,600 tons Invincible STOVL class aircraft carrier in service from 1985
- HMS Invincible (R05): 20,600 tons Invincible STOVL class aircraft carrier, currently in commission, but deactivated and mothballed. HMS Invincible can be made readily available with an 18 month reactivation notice.
