After the earthquake shakes up Orange County, the gang struggles to make sure everyone is okay. Although Sandy has told him to stay where he is, Seth will do whatever it takes to be with Ryan and Taylor. And when they finally are reunited, Seth learns what it is really like to be a brother. When Summer and Taylor can’t find Pancakes, Taylor finds out that family bonds are greater than she thinks. Meanwhile, the Coopers are stuck in the ice cream shop with the smitten ice cream boy, who pretends that in the process of the earthquake the pier (which the ice cream shop is on) broke away and went out to sea. He later reveals he did this as he wanted to keep Kaitlin there, whom he had a crush on. Julie and Kaitlin sing together (much to the delight of the ice cream boy). They are saved by the only man in Newport for Julie Cooper, Frank Atwood. However, like so much in Newport, things aren’t what they seem when the family returns to the Cohen house.
Trivia
The Skeleton Summer and Taylor see in the attic is Marissa's skeleton.
The first time you hear this song, it is at the beginning of the episode as the characters are dealing with the initial aftermath of the earthquake. It plays for a second time as Seth and Ryan are walking down the street trying to stay focused by naming off their friends from the past.
