Skyler Stone (born Skyler Clipner, January 1, 1980) is an American actor.

Skyler first gained notoriety as an obnoxious contestant on the Game Show Network revival of Press Your Luck, Whammy! on April 15, 2002[1]. He then went on to appear in an early episode of the NBC summer replacement game show Dog Eat Dog[2] on July 15, 2002 using his original surname, skirting an industry rule that you cannot appear on any game shows more than once in a 365-day period from first broadcast[3]

His appearances were a precursor to his current status as a "dorm room" name. He did this through his innovative prank series called Con on Comedy Central. In it, Stone would become whomever he needed through con artistry so that he could teach the viewer how to get what they wanted in life. The cons would range from ones he called "mini-cons" (like getting a burger for free at a drive-thru) to "Main Events" (where he would teach you how to sneak into the Playboy Mansion). The show did moderately well as far as ratings were concerned, however the legal issues on what was essentially a "How To" version of Catch Me If You Can were what shut it down. They shot 9 episodes for an eight episode order (over-shooting on purpose thinking that one would have legal issues and have to be shelved), however only six of them aired in April and May of 2005. The other three could not get cleared legally.

On the show he would use the surname "Mike St. Aubin" when pulling the elaborate "cons", stealing the name from his best friend in college. Rumor has it, St. Aubin had moved out to LA with him, but did not enjoy the scene - so he left. Skyler told him he would make his name famous one day. This is said to be his way of doing so. St. Aubin had no idea he used his name until the night it aired.

The plot for the pilot of his series Con was him posing as an American Idol contestant in order to convince the San Francisco Giants to let him sing the National Anthem at a ballgame. It worked and the network was floored by it so they bought it immediately.

Skyler tested for Saturday Night Live in 2005.

Stone was up for the lead role in Accepted. He lost it to Justin Long, but the director Steve Pink liked him so much he found a role for him in the film.

Like Dane Cook, Skyler is heavily in touch with his fans via his website http://www.skylerstone.com and through his MySpace page = http://www.myspace.com/skylerstone.

On January 3rd, 2007 Stone made his first national stand-up appearance on The Late Late Show W/ Craig Ferguson. He act talked about the DMV, how people always confuse him for the "guy from Bill & Ted's that's not Keanu" and how much he hates this "texting craze". Known for his impressions, Stone pulled out his Vince Vaughn one and got a standing ovation.

Stone was cast in Christopher Guest's For Your Consideration after Guest saw the Cancun Coma episode of CON. He had Stone in for a meeting and was cast as a trashy radio morning show host. Ironically, Stone started his career at a radio station in Kalamazoo, Michigan called 107.7 WRKR The Rocker. He said he drew on that for his preparation.

In 2007, Stone sold a pilot called Skyler's Revolution to Fox Broadcasting Company and Warner Brothers Television. It has been described as a reality version of Ferris Bueller, wherein Stone and his band of crazy pranksters find people who hate their lives and give them a life-altering adventure. It was executive produced by Stone, Trip Taylor (Jackass, Wild Boyz), and McG. It was not picked up for series, but gained major notoriety, for in the pilot Stone actually called up Governor Schwarzenegger on his direct dial in Sacramento pretending to be Michael Douglas. Stone's dead-on impression was good enough to convince the Governor that he was indees him for 5 minutes. In the pilot he also called Paula Abdul as Owen Wilson and he called Harrison Ford as Vince Vaughn. It has become an "underground hit" in Hollywood, as assistants have been pushing the tape around town.

His first movie ever was Roger Avary's Rules Of Attraction. Skyler played a speed freak named Quinlivan in a scene that ended up cut from the film. The scene also had James Vanderbeek and Adam Brody.

Skyler played Scarlett Johansson's husband in the flashback scenes for The Island (directed by Michael Bay).

Skyler is a regular at the Laugh Factory, The Improv and the Comedy Store - all in Hollywood, California.

He resides in Los Feliz, California.

His biggest influences are Steve Martin, Steven Wright, Michael Mann, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller and early Michael Keaton comedies.

Cast as the lead in the comedy No Place Like Home starring as Danny Devito's son in July of 2007. The plot has Devito trying to enjoy his retirement, so he takes drastic measures to get his twentysomething, slacker sons (Stone and Ryan Hansen) to move out and fend for themselves. It is produced by Wayne Rice (Suicide Kings, Dude Where's My Car?) and directed by Sam Harper (Cheaper By The Dozen 1 & 2, Just Married).
