Why this page should not be deleted: - I am not affiliated in any way with Saint John Transit. - Saint John Transit is a non-profit public transportation system funded with local taxes. - I spent 6 hours compiling and coding info - would hate to see it deleted. - I inserted the copyright notice as a temporary measure until I figure out how to properly tag the logo and picture to acknowledge copyright.

  • Go ahead and follow the directions on the SD tag (the "hangon" stuff). I don't think this page needs to be deleted as long as it gets changed within the next few hours. Get rid of the copyright info and if you do that, you need to remove the photo(s) too. The information is good though. - Rjd0060 23:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article is good, very good, I cannot deny that, but the reason I nominated it for speedy is simple: the article does not assert it's notability whatsoever, so fails WP:CSD#A7. Sorry :( TheIslander 23:59, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is being modified as we speak. The copyright info at the bottom has even been removed. I'll check on this later tonight. - Rjd0060 00:03, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the copyright notice and logos. I`m new to wiki and don`t understand àssert it`s notability. Could you kindly explain that to me and let me know what I can do to save the article Thanks.
According to WP:CSD#A7:
Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If controversial, or if there has been a previous deletion discussion that resulted in the article being kept, list the article at Articles for deletion instead.

I am going to remove the deletion tag for now. - Rjd0060 00:21, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In which case, a deletion discussion is what's needed. Have nominated for deletion - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Saint John Transit. TheIslander 00:27, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I read WP CSD A7 - unfortunately I still donèt quite understand asserting notability. Can you supply an example of what I can do to the article that would make it legit Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 01:34, 18 August 2007 (talkcontribs) Cdnguys (UTC)
Well, there are a few ways, but by far the main way for an article to be notable is for it to be backed up by a number of reliable, external sources, i.e. sources that have nothing to do with the company itself. For example, in this case, if there were to be a newspaper or travel guide that states how wonderful Saint John Transit is, if you could link to it, that'd help. Take a look at WP:N. I made some changes to the article, including why SJ Transit is important in reducing pollution in the city. I also provided external links. Could you take a look at it and let me know if it is acceptable now? Thanks.
