The North Western District of Oklahoma City is an up-and-coming district along Western Avenue stretching roughly from NW 36th to Wilshire Blvd, near the upscale suburb of Nichols Hills. The area is home to several restaurants,shops, and businesses that are unique to Oklahoma City and has become a favorite destination for residents.
Besides the restaurants, North Western Avenue is also home to several Oklahoma City institutions, including the prestigious Bishop McGuinness High School and the rapidly expanding corporate headquarters of Chesapeake Energy.
Among special note is the 4400 block with its developing Japantown of shops and restaurants, unique in the state of Oklahoma.
The area has many low class neighborhoods next to developed areas.
