Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, later renamed Thomas and Friends is a children's television series, based on the Railway Series, and which was first broadcast in 1984. Season 11 is due to premiere in autumn of 2007. It will be the last season to feature U.K. narrator Michael Angelis (who, after sixteen years, is the longest standing narrator for the show), and U.S. narrator Michael Brandon [1].

Characters

While Thomas is the only character from previous seasons that is presently confirmed to appear, a World Screen profile on HIT Entertainment's "Executive VP of Worldwide TV Distribution", Alison Homewood provides some information on the upcoming season:

"Season 11 of Thomas will be available in high definition and will feature new characters, including impetuous Silly Billy and Whiff the garbage engine, along with Hopper the Horrid, and some faces from Thomas’s past."[2]

One retailer has begun listing "Whiff", "Billy", and other characters as products in the new Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway lineup, due for release in early 2008.[3]

Summaries have been found at some PBS web sites, confirming these new characters, as well as older ones. The summaries also references a truck character called "Hector the Horrid" which, along with an item listed in certain online retailer catalogs, suggests that this is the character referred to as "Hopper the Horrid" on the World Screen website.
