Upper Albert Road
Upper Albert Road (simplified Chinese: 上亚厘毕道; traditional Chinese: 上亞厘畢道; pinyin: Shàng Yàlíbì Dào; Cantonese Yale: seung6 nga3 lei4 bat1 dou6) is a road on the Government Hill in the Central of Hong Kong. Surrouding the Government House, the residence of former Governors of Hong Kong and present Chief Executive of Hong Kong, the road is a destination of various protests. Protests sometimes result in traffic congestion.
The road is irregularly U-shaped and almost encircles the Government House. Starting from Lower Albert Road, the road wind up the hills and turn near the building Consulate General of United States of America in Hong Kong. It means Garden Road, Kennedy Road and Cotton Tree Drive.
For upper part of the road, its north is covered by Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens and ends in the junction with Caine Road, Glenealy and Arbuthnot Road near the headquarters of Caritas Hong Kong.
As it is part of early development of Victoria City, some old ficus microcarpa are located beside the road.
