The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie is a 2005 mockumentary, which is about two brothers, Nat and Alex Wolff who are members of a band. Originally independent, the movie was later adopted by Nickelodeon. A TV series of the same name premiered on February 3, 2007.
The Movie
Nat and Alex choose their band name The Naked Brothers Band in pre-school. As they got older to about 6 years old and older, they thought they should have a more mature name so they changed it to The Silver Boulders named after The Beatles. The band goes through superstrandom, girls, and censorship and the band breaks up in his depression as Nat was inspired by The Beatles, he wrote a song called "If There was a Place to Hide" with the same tune as The Beatles song "Let it Be". As David, Thomas and Josh left, Nat and Alex adopted Rosalina (age 11) and Cole (age 12) in their band and they decided to change back to the Naked Brothers Band like they used to.
The Real Life Story
Nat and Alex Wolff are the real life offspring of two entertainers that had baby-boomer appeal Polly Draper ("Ellyn Warren" on the 1980's TV series Thirtysomething) and Michael Wolff (band leader and musical director for "The Arsenio Hall Show", he is a jazz pianist). Draper is also executive producer/writer/director/creator, and Wolff is the Co-Executive Producer/Music Producer of this film.
According to Executive Producer Albie Hecht, the film is based on reality, then rewritten as fantasy, pretending that they are a famous rock band. Hecht thought the brothers would be big after the film was screened to an enthusiastic audience at The Hamptons International Film Festival.
