Rob Edwards (born 25 December1982 in Madeley) is a Wales international footballer.

Rob started his career as an apprentice at Birmingham based club Aston Villa. However, after making only 9 appearances for the Villans, plus loan spells at Derby County and Crystal Palace, Edwards made the short journey across the Midlands to Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20 July 2004 for £250,000.

Edwards's Molineux career made a slow start. At times he was left out in favour of Keith Lowe or Mark Clyde.

In the summer of 2005 it looked like his career in Old Gold and Black could be over before it had really begun with the arrival of former Celtic F.C. captain Jackie McNamara. However, injury curtailed the Scotsman's first season at Wolves, allowing Edwards the opportunity to show what he could do, an opportunity which he has grabbed with both hands. Edwards is a steadying influence in the defence, and this consistency has pushed him into the Welsh national squad.
