first book

The library's first acquisition was Survey of Wyoming and Idaho by Dr. Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden[2] -- the citation is to the book its self -- the book says that it was the first book purchased??? Also, when did it become the UCLA library and not the normal school library? They really moved the collection when the moved the campus? What did LA city college keep as thier library when they got that old normal school campus? What is the source of all this info?
