"Shawty" is the first single off of Plies debut album, The Real Testament. The track features T-Pain and is produced by Drumma Boy and Ensayne. The video premiered on 106 and Park and MTV's Discover & Download. The video features celebrity cameos from Rick Ross, Rich Boy, Edgerrin James and Jevon Kearse. This track samples Earth, Wind, and Fire's "Fantasy". The track has leaked to the internet as of April 2007. "Shawty" has thus far peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, making the single Plies' first top ten hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as T-Pain's fifth.
Remixes
A remix featuring Webbie & T-Pain was also released on the mixtape, DJ Smallz: The Best Thing Smoking Vol. 2 (We Still Smokin'). Plus, there is a remix with Louisiana's own Dizasta where T-Pain has a verse and the same chorus with Dizasta's verse added. This was released August 28 on DJ Dizasta's "Tha Disasterpiece vol 5." Also, Cupid put his zydeco spin on the song which is currently getting a lot of airplay in Louisiana. Its just a coincidence that all remixes involve artists from Louisiana.
