Rage is a first-person shooter video game in development by id software, it was announced at Quakecon on August 3, 2007. The new game will be using id's new id Tech 5 engine.[1]

On August 3rd, a trailer was released, on Gametrailers.com. [2]

The game appears to be set in a post-apocalyptic setting akin to those seen in The Road Warrior and Fallout.[3] In an interview with Gamespot, designer Tim Willits revealed that the game is set in the near future following a comet collision with the earth.[4] Influences on the driving and racing gameplay include games such as MotorStorm and Burnout, according to designer Tim Willits in a Shacknews interview.[5] It has been stated that id is developing Rage with a T-for-Teen rating in mind. In the game the player can upgrade their car with money won from car races. It has been stated that the Xbox 360 port will have 2 discs.
