Niner

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 68.99.6.161 (talk) at 02:13, 21 September 2003 (Added another reason for "niner" instead of "nine"). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Niner is the digit 9 in the NATO phonetic alphabet. It is pronounced as two syllables, to distinguish it from the digit 5 -- which is pronounced as one syllable -- and also to prevent possible accidental confusion with the German "nein" for "no."
