Curb stomping is a violent act in which the victim's mouth is positioned against a curb, as if that particular person were to be biting it. The offender then uses their foot to apply ("stomp") a large amount of force to the back of the victim's head or neck. When applied to the base of the neck, the result is a broken neck. When applied to the crown of the skull, the force is directed toward the jaw, separating it from the skull. This act is usually fatal.

Such an act was depicted in the 1998 film, American History X, which features Derek, one of the film's protagonists, killing a black man who had been in the process of stealing Derek's car. Curb stomping is also depicted in the video game Gears of War as a special finishing move. This act is also made in The Sopranos, in which Tony Soprano is shown doing it on a member of the New York families for making lewd remarks about his daughter. In 2002, two San Diego youths, Waylon Kennell and James Grlicky, were convicted for the attempted murder of a Mexican migrant worker in a curb stomping incident.[1] Curb stomping is one of the many executions in the video game "The Punisher" (2004).
