Pictures of the Year (POY) is a photojournalism contest. Hosted by the University of Missouri's School of Journalism since it was founded in 1944 by University of Missouri Photojournalism Professor Cliff Edom. POY has been guided over the years by directors Angus McDougall and Bill Kuykendall. In 2001, the Pictures of the Year went International and is now known as POYi.
