Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein

Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (born Paul C. Doyle Caiafa on September 15, 1964 in Lodi, New Jersey), is an American guitarist. He was the most well-known guitarist of the horror punk band The Misfits, which he joined in October 1980, at the age of 16.

Doyle is considered by many in the horror punk scene as a legendary guitarist, setting the standard for future acts that attempt to emulate his aggressive playing style and hulking stage presence. His older brother, Jerry Only, was a founding member of the band, along with Glenn Danzig.

In 1987, four years after the Misfits broke up, Doyle and Jerry formed the metal band Kryst The Conqueror with drummer The Murp. However, they never had a vocalist and never toured, or played a show, although they did record one album which has never been released in its entirety but was leaked around the internet recently. Select songs from the album were released by Jerry Only's record label "Cyclopian Music" as an EP, and featured guest guitarist Dave "The Snake" Sabo of the metal band Skid Row on one of the tracks, whom Jerry had met through a mutual friend.

After several years of legal negotiations with The Misfits Doyle and Jerry reformed The Misfits in 1995, this time with Jerry acting as the band's figurehead and with Michale Graves as vocalist and Dr. Chud as drummer. After releasing two full length albums of new material, Doyle left the band under mysterious circumstances, which Jerry attributed to injuries, and the fact that Doyle was going through a divorce. Some chalk this up as rumor, due to the fact that Doyle has since joined Glenn Danzig on several occasions to play 30-minute-long sets of classic Misfits tunes, with the latter's band, Danzig.

Doyle is married to former pro wrestler Gorgeous George (George Frankenstein). They have a daughter together. Doyle himself was in a short bout of pro wrestling with his brother, whose linebacker physique made for an intimidating tag team. His height is billed at 6 foot 4 inches, and his hulking weight is billed at 254 lbs.

In 2005, Doyle left New Jersey for Las Vegas, where he has began auditioning members for his own band, Gorgeous Frankenstein.
