Calvin Lewellyn Rampton (November 6, 1913 - September 16, 2007) was the Democratic governor of the state of Utah from 1965 to 1977.
The Calvin L. Rampton Complex which houses the Utah Department of Transport and the Utah Department of Public Safety is named after him. He was the first Utah governor to serve three terms. It was announced in July of 2007 that he is terminally ill with cancer. On Friday, August 10, 2007, he suffered a stroke, leaving him unable to speak. His son said in an interview with the Deseret Morning News on August 21, 2007, that Rampton was recovering from the stroke and was able to speak. Rampton died peacefully at CareSource Hospice in Holladay, Utah after a brief battle with Cancer. He was 93 years old.
