Your advise is needed here

Hello! I hope you are feeling great. I would like you to view my comments here. Your views on this matter would be much appreciated as well! --Siva1979Talk to me 03:37, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted your edit to Hugo Chávez

Hello, Fernando. I reverted your edit to Hugo Chávez. I agree the code helps dealing with the long reference list but just check the printable version[1]. Scroll down to the end and I'm sure you will get my point. JRSP 03:47, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reverting I didn't notice the secondary effects of the code. --F3rn4nd0 (Roger - Out) 05:33, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, if I get other sources, can the article stay? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can add the sources, but what's gonna happen to the orphan status? he's not notable enough. --F3rn4nd0 (Roger - Out) 03:43, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he's very famous (Christian community). The reason I added his website as the "main" sources is because I thought it might of helped (apparently not). But, I'll try to see to make his article notable. Oh, and I have nothing to do with him as you stated. P.S. What is gonna happen to the orphan status? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:34, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Norte del Valle Cartel

I was compiling some information regarding the Norte del Valle Cartel. I am not sure how interested you are in them, they share some members with the Cali Cartel. Unfortunately I am in the middle of a dispute and being falsely accused of being someone else. From what I understand of policy they will remove my edits to the articles I created and I will not be able to edit anymore, if this persons vindictive allegations are seen as true. I dumped all the information I had been saving for the article into a subpage NV Cartel. I would reccomend saving it somewhere if you find any of it useful as it would be such as waste of hard work and could go to improving the articles greatly. Please keep an eye out on the Cali Cartel article as well. I have seen one member of this group remove individual edits of a banned user, effectively destroying an article.

If it does go through and I do end up banned/blocked (not sure what the difference is), then I just wanted to drop this information off to you and say thank you. You have done amazing work on the articles related to Colombia. I do not speak Spanish but I felt working on these articles was my own way of getting in touch with my heritage, however little sense that makes. Thank for your contributions to the Colombia related articles and to cleaning up my bad grammar and punctuation. --SevenOfDiamonds 13:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'm Shield187 I made the NVC page what it is...With all the Cartel Crackdowns from reseacrh....Key Members at Large mean the ones who have not been captured.....Cartel Crackdowns are news headlines of important blows to the cartel....Why are you erasing my entry for Montoya under Cartel Crackdown? Just leave Varela and Renteria at At Large since they are the only two members of importance not to be caught. Also, there is no more Cali Cartel....Some Members started in The Cali Cartel and then started the NVC when the cartel was broken up...Thats why some bio for some members say started in the cali cartel. Merging the two is not ncessary. Don't assume to know more than me becuase you don't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shield187 (talkcontribs) 21:18, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh please.. You could have "made" it but you don't own it.. don't try to be aggressive here and try to reach a concensus instead. And never assume you know it all... big mistake... I understand what you did and how the article was coming.. I really think the article needs some restructuring as it is.. it's in some way not encyclopedic. WHO is talking about merging?? I rather think that each individual needs its own bio if notable enough or if there is information about them out there.. --F3rn4nd0 (Roger - Out) 21:30, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I think the page could use some restructuring, the problem is they havent become as well known as the Cali/Medellin cartels. This leaves little in terms of over all structure, organization and assets. I have plenty on companies closed in relation to person X or person Y. The problem is it is often not listed as Cartel assets due to the structure, they are more of a group of people with similar goals, under a united name, its not like Pablo and Medellin. I will try to compile anymore I can find and restructure as best I can. As for Montoya he was arrested today. --SevenOfDiamonds 02:25, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I attempted to rewrite it, looks like too much text. Was thinking of splitting it, but not sure what criteria to use to do so. I was thinking years, but some sections would be very short. Let me know if you think of anything. --SevenOfDiamonds 03:40, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

Please opine over the merge of valijagate to maletinazo so I can consolidate the text before you continue making changes. The discussion is at Talk:valijagate. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 07:04, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:19mividadmusical.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:19mividadmusical.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:27, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

new policy

any thoughts about this? Slrubenstein | Talk 22:58, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Andreaecheverriaterciopelados.png

I have tagged Image:Andreaecheverriaterciopelados.png as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ~ Wikihermit 01:21, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Adm19logo.png. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:05, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. I've been carried away that I forgot to send the e-mail verification to Permissions@wikimedia.org. I will do so. But you still seem to attack me by claiming that I'm promoting him. I'm not promoting him, I'm just writing an article. And in my opinion, its not the best written article I've edit. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:52, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:31lavoz.png

Thanks for uploading Image:31lavoz.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:25, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carolina Herrera (entertainer)

I've declined your speedy deletion request on Carolina Herrera (entertainer) - while it may only have one source, that source is the BBC so it's unlikely to be a hoax, and it contains a clear assertion of notability. If you feel it ought to be deleted, by all means submit it to [WP:AFD|AFD]], but I'm fairly certain that as it stands any discussion would result in a clear keep.iridescent (talk to me!) 21:08, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pabloescopaint.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Pabloescopaint.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:57, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thank u

Thanks a lot for The WikiProject Colombia Barnstar. It means a lot for me. I wonder if you could help me with an issue. some days ago I created an article about the development of a colombian breed of dog through the raising of criollo dogs, under the title Porcham Terrier. the article was tagged as suspicious of hoax, I added aditional references, for some days there were no new entries in the talk page, and then suddenly the article was deleted without discussion or consensus. ( 19:36, 20 September 2007 User:DragonflySixtyseven deleted "Porcham Terrier" ‎ (apparent hoax) ) I wrote to DragonflySixtyseven, (without response yet). The colombian dog breed has no international official recognition still, but many dog breeds worldwide are in the same status, and the facts registred in the article are real. Criollo dogs are very popular pets in Colombia and many kennels are working in the development of a more uniform criollo breed. Koven.rm 17:25, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

¡Gracias!

I'm not so sure I deserve this barnstar award (yet) but it feels really good to be remembered by someone around here Fernando.

Thanks for asking about my studies, I did my "sustentación de tesis" last Friday (it's the final stage of the thesis, where you orally present the project to the faculty and the professors examine you regarding the subject) and I got a 4.0! :) ...finally, I'm over with it, you have no idea how good that feels... I still have a few exams to go and that will take a couple more months (probably until easter next year).

I'm planning on taking on the Cartagena de Indias article this Christmas. Anyways, I shouldn't be spending much time at Wikipedia right now so....cheers :)Rosa 18:09, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

btw, the Colombian Wikiproject Barnstar looks very good. Thanks for creating it. Rosa 18:19, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
