Maya Herrera
Maya Herrera is a fictional character in the NBC drama Heroes, portrayed by Dania Ramírez. Her first on-screen apperance was in the episode "Four Months Later...", though the character was featured earlier in the Graphic Novel "Maya y Alejandro".
Season Two
Maya has an unspecified power which proves difficult to control, although it is implied that several deaths have resulted from this power. Consequently, she and her brother, Alejandro Herrera, are wanted for murder, and have become fugitives. Maya fears capture, as her arrest may lead to more deaths. [1]
It appears that as long as Alejandro is nearby, she can control her power, so the siblings do everything they can to stay close to each other. After discovering Chandra Suresh's book, they decide to go to New York to find him, not knowing he is dead. When Alejandro is kicked out of one transport they find, it results in the death of the transporters and all the other illegal immigrants they are carrying.
