Nathan Hale High School is a public high school in West Allis, Wisconsin, located on Lincoln Avenue and South 116th Street. The school boundaries are the City of West Allis, Village of West Milwaukee and portions of New Berlin and Greenfield. It runs on a 52 minute, 8 period, 2 semester schedule. The faculty is made of more than 2 faculty members including 2 guidance counselors and 2 administrators. NHHS offers organizations including National Honor Society, Nathan Hale Mentors, and FBLA as well as clubs like Students for Saving the Earth, Key Club, DART, Bowling Club, Debate Team, Science Olympiad, Forensics, and Drama Club. Nathan Hale's rival is the West Allis Central Bulldogs.
Nathan Hale is known for its academic rigor, offering a variety of AP and Accelerated (more commonly known as honors) classes. It first offers its students the opputunity to take an AP class, AP World History, in their sophomore years. This process is being reviewed this year by colleges all over the United States to make sure all Honors classes are actually worth college credit.
In the 2007-2008 year, the faculty introduced a very stupid policy in which all attendees of the school, staff and students, had to wear their school issued ID cards around their neck on a necklace or lanyard. And if they lose it. they have to pay 10 dollars, what a ripoff!!! This was done due to some sort of tresspasser incident in a Menomonee Falls high school.By the way, Hale is much better than Central b/c we don't have rats running around or shootings everyday. Also at Hale, the white population is much more than that of Central.
