- Keep –
- 1. I don't see anything in the Wikipedia:Image use policy (WP:UIP) that states that PNG images should be deleted just because a similar SVG image has been created.
- 2. Those images were created through a long discussion on the talk page of the article that originally used those images and are also shown in that discussion. Although attempts have today been made by User:Melesse to delete them from that archive page. Deleting them means deleting the history how the images now used in the article came to be. (Since the SVGs were then based on the PNGs.) Since when do we delete article history?
- 3. The SVG images are not identical to the PNGs, only similar. In fact one of the reasons I keep the PNGs are that I want to update the SVGs to look like those PNGs since the SVGs are slightly messy. (Look at their arrows and how thin the lines are etc.) I just haven't gotten around to it yet. They are part of the work I do here at Wikipedia.
- 4. Another reason I keep those PNGs is that I use them as colour and design references when doing other images. It is easier to copy ones style from existing images than to come up with a style from scratch each time. Again, they are part of the work I do here at Wikipedia.
- 5. If you look at my user page you can see I have a list of deleted images. Those images were deleted on my request. I do request deletion of images I made when I think there is no use for them anymore. So I don't keep everything around just to keep it. But note that I have not even moved the images listed here today to my "perhaps to be deleted list". But for instance yesterday I requested the deletion of Image:Curren event.gif that I made myself, since there now is a much better image.

- Keep GFDL, No reason to delete. Will break links as well as source as noted on the .svg image tag. Recommend tagging .png image OBSOLETE so it does not creep back into mainspace. --Knulclunk 20:32, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- And, in agreeing with David Göthberg, the arrowheads and linewieghts on the .svg are ugly.--Knulclunk 12:58, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Kept, folks seem to like them for some reason. Or six. :-) – Quadell (talk) (random) 17:04, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

- orphan now, i did upload it, which was kind of stupid of me. Who wants his signature publically available? (its popping up searching for my name in image databases, d*mn) I dont think anybody is particularily interested in it (was only ever linked to from my user page) Sebastian Leibnitz | [[User talk:Name|Talk]] 16:07, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
