Winston Churchill High School (San Antonio)
Winston Churchill High School is part of the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas, in Bexar County. It is located at 12049 Blanco Road and is named after Sir Winston Churchill, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The school mascot is the Charger while the school uses the British flag as its symbol, in reference to Sir Winston Churchill's nationality. The Churchill Charger Band is well known and has won many awards. Churchill has also historically had excellent academic and athletics programs.Churchill currently has the top male cross country runner in the San Antonio region
The School is referenced in the 1996 movie Lone Star.
Athletics
Guided by first-year coach Jerry Comalander, Churchill High went 15-0 and won the 1976 4A state championship in football (the state's largest classification until 1980).
