Animals on the Underground
Animals on the Underground are a collection of characterful animal shapes made using only the lines, stations and interchanges on the world famous London Underground map.

The Animals were 'discovered' by Paul Middlewick in 1987 when staring at the London Underground map on a boring commuter journey, he found that, by using tube lines, stations and interchanges on the map, he could create 'Animals'.

The Animals now have their own web site [(http://www.animalsontheunderground.com)] and a significant worldwide following.

There are currently 27 Animals that have been found and a few more in development. The current Animals include a Fish, Whale, Elephant, Pig and even an Emu!

Recently, a Bottlenose Whale was found in the river Thames and Paul managed to find a Bottlenose Whale image within the underground map!
