Song
B-side"Eleanor's Cake (Which Ate Her)"

"Singing A Song In The Morning" was the first Kevin Ayers single, released three months after his debut solo LP Joy of a Toy. It did not feature on the album. The song was originally recorded with Syd Barrett on guitar and backing vocals although his contributions were edited out of this release, only re-appearing on a 2006 reissue of the LP. 'Eleanor’s Cake (Which Ate Her)' was taken from the Joy of a Toy album and is considered a classic Ayers recording.
