The Autovia C-17 connects Barcelona with Vic and Ripoll to the north in the Upper Ter Valley. It is known as the Autovia Barcelona-Puigcerdà. It is only currently part motorway.

The road starts as the Avinguda Meridiana in the centre of Barcelona heading north through the suburbs close to the Autopista C-33 before crossing the Autopista AP-7.

It passes to the west of Granollers before passing the Parc Nacional del Montseny and the Ter river basin and Vic where it is crossed by the C-25 Eix Transversal. The road heads north towards the Pyrenees and ends at Ripoll.

At Ripoll the road becomes the N-152 onwards to Puigcerdà. There are also junctions with the N-260/C-26/A-26
