Changed
I changed the Ireland text from"same as uk" as the uk section had limited offers which did not apply to Ireland.
Reallly?
Did these really debut in 2001? I swear I remember having these in Japan and that was in 1998 and 1999. Mike H 20:25, Sep 25, 2004 (UTC)
- Just checked Usenet- here's a reference to them in Disneyland in 1997. And here's a McDonald's newsletter with a 1998 date. OTOH, the trademark was registered on December 19, 1997, and that application shows the first use in commerce as October 31, 1997.--Rossumcapek 16:16, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I just knew 2001 was too late. Mike H 11:05, Oct 2, 2004 (UTC)
Vandalism by SEC IP Address:
Someone from an SEC IP address (162.138.184.71) vandalized the article back in September deleting the McControversy section as well as the paragraph saying that the McFlurry ice cream product is extended with methylcellulose. Could this be an attempt to improve McDonald's PR? It was then reverted but the paragraph about the ingredients of the McFlurry was left deleted. If you go down the history of this article there are numerous anonymous edits making the article more like a corporate advertisement. This is supposed to be an encyclopedia! I'm sure this sort of stuff goes on a lot at Wikipedia, but I wish we could just investigate and find out who is behind such blatently nefarious edits. Android8 23:17, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Which type of Smarties?
Several countries have a Smarties-flavoured McFlurry. But there are two types of Smarties - the American sort and the Nestlé sort, which are totally different products. The Spain and Taiwan links go to the disambiguation page - should they go straight to the Nestlé one? 86.132.136.165 23:07, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Help
When these were released in the UK, tell me that I wasnt the only person to think the spoon was a straw, and sucked the end of it to no avail? Gherkin30 11:54, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
~No! I also could not eat my mcflurry. I thought the *straw* was to awkward and went up to the desk to complain! 212.2.166.217 12:33, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Dery
~Thank god someone else done that as well, I looked like an idiot in the middle of the resteraunt trying to suck my mcflurry through the spoon! Meateater 11:01, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
