Need more about the book, then the movie

There really deserves to be more about the book rather than the movie. After all, it's the book that won Grass the Nobel Prize. I don't know enough about Grass and the book (other than having read it) to do this myself, but I thought I should call to attention the lack of information on the book.--70.245.244.104 16:57, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I also haven't read the book or seen the movie, but the book is much more well-known and recognized than the movie. Perhaps this article should be split into the film and the book? In addition, the picture in the infobox is the cover of the Vintage International edition novel, while it is a film infobox, so the film's own cover art should be used. commentary on film vs. book moved from talk page

This article should further be reviewed, though by other comments it is made apparent that the article is based on the film rather than on the novel, certain errors must be considered, ie. "{Oskar's mother having died, Alfred marries Maria, a woman who is secretly Oskar's first mistress. After marrying Alfred, Maria gives birth to Oskar's son, Kurt", there is no evidence in the text confirming Kurt's paternal origins. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.241.15.80 (talk • contribs)
