Fujitsu is a Japanese company specializing in semiconductors, computers (supercomputers, personal computers, servers) , telecommunications, and consulting services, and is headquartered in Tokyo. Fujitsu Limited (TSE:6702) reported consolidated revenues of 5.00 trillion yen for the fiscal year which ended March 31, 2002.


Fujitsu is also a district in Saga, Japan.

Established in 1935, the name Fujitsu is a contraction of Fuji Tsushinki (Fuji Telecommunications).

Internationally, Fujitsu considers IBM to be its main competition. It's historical domestic rival is NEC.

Major acquistions include UK-based ICL and US-based Amdahl.
