Mary Helen Stefaniak
Mary Helen Stefaniak is an American writer. She is the author of the books Self Storage and Other Stories and The Turk and My Mother. She is also the winner of the Binghamton University John Gardner Fiction Book Award. She teaches Creative Writing at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and at The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She and her husband live in Iowa City. They have a son, Jeff, and two daughters, Liz and Lauren.
