The Brisbane Cup is a Group 2 Australian thoroughbred horse race for 3 year olds and over, run under handicap conditions over a distance of 2400 metres at Eagle Farm Racecourse, Brisbane in June. Prizemoney in 2007 was AUD$300,000.

Race history

  • 1866 run over 18 furlongs (approx 3600 metres).
  • 1883 & 1888 run over 14 furlongs (approx 2800 metres).
  • 1946 run over 12 furlongs (approx 2400 metres).
  • 2007, race distance changed from 3200m to 2400m, race also dropped to Group 2 status.
