Sunday is a suspense thriller with elements of comedy. It stars Ajay Devgan and Ayesha Takia in the lead roles. It is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Kumar Mangat and Sunil Lulla. The film revolves around a girl name Sehar who is unable to remember a particular Sunday in her life.

Story
A fresh and fully bloomed sunflower blossoms with sunrise, whole day basks in the warmth of the sunlight and finally as the sun sets it unwinds itself and achieves the resting position again to follow the same routine next morning. The same applies to human beings, who have different routines to follow everyday without fail. But just imagine, if a person is unable to recall the happenings of a particular day in his life, how restless he would feel.
The same occurs in the life of Sehar (Ayesha Takia), when she comes across a situation of being unable to recall a particular 'Sunday' in her life.
Sehar's world goes topsy-turvy when she gets a clue about the missing Sunday of her life, which reflects a sexual assault or rape on her. Then A.C.P Rajveer (Ajay Devgan) takes up the mantle to sort out the complicated and jumbled up threads of Sehar's life.
Rajveer is an honest cop but accepts bribe, his honesty contributes to encouraging a total ban on any criminal activity by the locals. In the process of solving Sehar's case it comes to light that on Sunday, different people interacted with Sehar and amongst them, one could be the accused. To name some, the lot includes Ballu (Arshad Warsi), the taxi driver and his friend Kumar (Irrfan Khan), a struggling NSD actor, Ritu (Anjana Sukhani) her close friend, a scary and suspicious character who resides in Sehar's society, and the group whom she had come across while partying at the discotheque.
Production
The shooting began from March 10, 2007, first few days of shooting happened in Mumbai and than a 30 days schedule in Delhi from 18 March. The second and last schedule started from 22nd May, 2007 in Delhi and then continued in Mumbai and later in Hyderabad. Lastly a song was shot in Australia and the shooting was completed by 13 July 2007.
The movie has shot at popular places in the capital like Pragati Maidan, Lal Qila, India Gate, Connaught Place and others. The movie is also shot at studios like Filmalaya, Filmcity, Kamalistan Studios etc.
Trivia
- The movie is said to be inspired by a Telugu movie Anukokunda Oka Roju.
- Due to rain in Mumbai at the time of shooting, they had to shift a song shooting to Hyderabad. The song itself had a set cost of 8 millions and shifting 600 crew members and dancers to Hyderabad cost big time.
- According to Ayesha Takia, this is her first Commercial film where she is doing a Performace Oriented Role. She said in an interview, "I have a fabulous role in Sunday with plenty of scope to perform".
- The movie has two item numbers, one picturised on Esha Deol which is sung by Shibani Kashyap and the other one on Tusshar Kapoor sung by Raghav Sachar .
- The movie has four different Music Directors. Daler Mehndi and Shibani Kashyap has done one song each, Raghav Sachar (of Kabul Express fame) has done two songs, They have taken the title track form Pakistani band - Suroor debut album 'Pyar Tu Hona Hi Hain'.
