Scott Baio Is 45...and Single is a celebreality show, starring Scott Baio. Under the supervision of his personal life coach, Dr. Alison Arnold, he visits all of his old girlfriends over an eight-week period and asks them why they broke up. The series also features Baio's three closest friends, including Johnny Venocur (aka "Johnny V") and Jason Hervey (who co- created and also serves as writer and producer for the show along with Eric Bischoff from Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment)[1]. The crew includes several writers, including Bischoff, who was a producer and major story-arc writer for the WCW and WWE wrestling circuits. Eric Bischoff announced that the show was extended for a second season during an interview on the Main Event radio show.

Reviews

Andrew Lyons, MEDIA LIFE: "What worked so well for Scott Baio in those long ago sitcoms works equally well in the new millenium of reality television. His endearing charm and devil-may-care sensibility permeates the whole show and it makes for an entertaining half-hour of mostly light-hearted semi-self-awakening. The show is well-executed and the star is compelling."

Richard Huff, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: "It is an entertaining and emotional half-hour built around the one-time Hollywood hunk's quest to find out why he's still single. While it's fun to watch him struggle, in the end the show creates a sympathetic portrait of a star who has avoided the usual pitfalls of celebrity on the road to bachelorhood. And for a celebrity reality show, that's unusual and why this is worth your time."

Jessie Smith, ASSOCIATED CONTENT TV REVIEW: "This surprisingly entertaining show gives us a glimpse into the life of Scott Baio. If you're not a fan of Baio already, you will be after watching one of the newest installments to VH1's celebreality family."

Ginia Bellafante, NEW YORK TIMES: "The VH1 network's series SCOTT BAIO IS 45 AND SINGLE certainly deserves a place in the annals of very good reality television."

Rick Ellis, ALL YOUR TV: "It is a charming often funny show, much more restrained and tasteful than the typical VH1 reality series. The idea sounds a bit cheesy but thanks to Scott Baio's charm, it's actually an entertaining and sometimes sweet show. Besides the entertainment value, it is also a reminder that Baio is a talented guy who deserves better roles than he's gotten in recent years."

Linda Stasi, NEW YORK POST: "The redeeming thing here is Scott Baio himself. Still quite handsome and charming (and residually rich!), he comes across as a terrific guy. It's no wonder he got so many hot women. Who can resist a nice bad boy with a big cigar?"

TV Envy, TELEVISION GEARLIFE: "Scott Baio, whose career has been in the dumps for quite a while, has carved himself a nice little comeback with this reality show gem. Talk about guilty pleasure."
