Billy King (born January 23, 1966) is the team president for the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia 76ers. King grew up in Sterling, Virginia where he played basketball at Park View High School, and received a scholarship to play at Duke University. King joined the 76ers on June 2, 1997, as Vice-President of basketball administration. On May 19, 1998, he was promoted to General Manager, and on April 5, 2000, he signed a new year contract to stay with the team for an extended term. On May 26, 2003 he was named President along with General Manager. He married Melanie Lynn Frantz on August 27, 2005 only to divorce her a year later and begin an ongoing love affair with Sixers starting center, Samuel Dalembert. King signed the lanky African out of Seton Hall to a $60 million deal in the beginning of the 2006 season saying, "Dalembert is a lock for the hall of fame." One of King's worser moments occured during halftime in the Sixers locker room when Sixer's commentator Mark Zumof caught King giving Dalembert a "Rusty Trumbone." Zumof commented afterwards saying, "Billy sure did give Sammy a fresh 24 among the trees," two of Zumof's trademarked terms.

Marc Krigstein is the best!

Billy can also be blamed for the 30 million that the Sixers owe players not currently on the roster.
