"Padre de Familia" is a season six episode of the FOX animated television series Family Guy.
Plot summary
Peter starts an anti-immigration group after being caught up in the pro-American sentiment at a Veterans' Day parade, but his tune quickly changes when he finds out he was born in Mexico. Because his mother forgot to sign his citizenship papers before crossing back into America, Peter is deemed an illegal immigrant, and subsequentially loses his job and is separated from Lois by authorities. He ends up working as a groundskeeper on Carter Pewterschmidt's estate while leading the fight for immigrant rights.[1]
Airdate
This episode is set to air November 18, 2007, two weeks after the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike interrupted production. At that time, the episode was not entirely finished. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, a member of the Writers Guild of America, went out on the picket lines. As the show's showrunner, he would normally have been at work overseeing the final touches on the episode. It is not known whether Fox will air the episode at its intended time without McFarlane's input; he has suggested his relationship with the network will be harmed if it airs this or any other episode without his involvement.[2]
Notes
- The title of this episode is the same as the title of the show in Spanish (which derives from the Latin term Pater familias: father of the family).
- Santos and Pasqual, the Portuguese men who were last seen in "The Perfect Castaway", will return in this episode.
