David Lang is also the name of an American composer.

He was drafted in the 12th-round from Northern Arizona University in 1990 NFL Draft. He spent four years with the Los Angeles Rams. In 1992, Lang rushed for a career high 203 yards on 33 carries and caught 18 passes for 283 yards. He scored six touchdowns.

David graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California in 1986, where he enjoyed football star status as a positive, friendly young man.

In 1995, his final season, he was the special teams captain of the Dallas Cowboys who won Super Bowl XXX.

He was shot and killed near his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
