1987–88 La Liga

The 57th League Championship of Spain saw the Primera División expand to 20 teams, as well as the return of the relegation playoff (promoción). The championship started on 29 August 1987 and finished on 22 May 1988 with Real Madrid winning their 23rd Liga title.
