Material?

What is the material composition of this substance? Also, the article seems to indicate that green is the natural color of this foam, which is almost certainly incorrect. Freederick 13:33, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, to answer my own question, sort of: the manufacturer's site says it is “phenolic foam”. I always thought phenolic resin was hard brittle thermosetting stuff like bakelite, but evidently it can be made in crushable hygroscopic foam form. This material, BTW, is superb for dioramas if you are a scale modeller; but I have misgivings against putting that factoid in the article proper since it is original research. I always thought this stuff was weird, it just feels weird, and has a funny smell, probably tastes weird too.
