A celebration.

Sometimes used as a short form of political party.

Can anyone think of any real encyclopedic content which could go on this page? If not, we probably should delete it or redirect it to political party. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. -- SJK

Yes, there's plenty of content that could end up here. Activities at parties throughout history (notably drug use), sizes of parties, common party occasions in contemporary Western society/other societies, their role in introducing people to partners, etc. I'm sure there's anthropologists itching to write stuff here - I know one who did a paper on drinking games at residential colleges at the University of Melbourne :)
