Daphne Clarke (née Lawrence) was a fictional character in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Elaine Smith. She debuted in the serial's first episode in 1985 as a stripper for Des Clarke's bucks party. After a whole dramatic encounter with his fiancee, Daphne moved in with Des. They eventually fell in love and got engaged. She had failed to reach the altar a few times but eventaully got married. In 1987, she gave birth to a baby boy, Jamie. It was around this time that her father came back into her life and reveald he was dying. She went away for a while to look after him.

She returned later in 1988 but was involved in a horrific car accdient that ended up with her in a coma. After a few days, she awoke from the coma and spoke the famous words "I love you too, Clarky". Unfortunately, she suffered cardiac arrest and died.

In 2003, it was revealed that Daphne had left shares for Jamie under the linoleum at Number 28 Ramsay Street, where Karl and Susan Kennedy were currently living which set up a plot arc for Jamie's brief return to the show.
