2011 Cricket World Cup (qualification) - EAP

The 2011 Cricket World Cup East Asia-Pacific qualification system will see teams from the region compete for places in the ICC World Cricket League as part of the qualifying process for the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Overview

The first stage in the qualifying process was the 2005 ICC EAP Cricket Cup. This tournament was won by Japan, who defeated Cook Islands in the final. Both finalists gained a place in the next qualifying tournament, the 2006 ICC EAP Cricket Trophy. The other participants in this tournament were Vanuatu (3rd), Tonga (4th), Indonesia (5th) and Samoa (6th).

The second stage in the qualifying process was the 2006 ICC EAP Cricket Trophy. This tournament was won by Fiji, with Cook Islands finishing in 2nd place ahead of Japan, on superior run rate. By winning this tournament, Fiji progressed to 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division Three.

The third stage in the qualifying process is the 2007 ICC EAP Cricket Trophy. Japan and Vanuatu qualified for the 2008 World Cricket League Division Five, finishing as the top two teams of the group stage. The other teams participating in this tournament are Cook Islands, Indonesia, Samoa and Tonga.
