Welcome

Hello, Snipergirl, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I see that you recently listed as a participant in the WikiProject Melbourne. If you are a Melbourne resident I would appreciate your views on the suggested Meetup in March . Please give some indication of your interest, or otherwise, in the idea. Even a simple "No thanks" with your user name would be welcome and assist in assessing the level of support for a meetup. Thank you. Cuddy Wifter 06:16, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hm

haven't seen you for a while IRL, but we meet again on wikipedia! pfctdayelise (translate?) 23:01, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! Wow! Hi!! Are you back in Melbourne? What are you doing right now? How'd you find me?! I appear to have annoyed user DarrenRay, which should amuse you muchly :) Snipergirl 12:51, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Um, I've been back in Melbourne (since China, you mean??) for ages. :) I'm still at uni - double degree is 5 years!! Last year now. I noticed your comment on Diana Anaid, which is on my watchlist too (not too impressed with her last album, though :)).
I think Darren's been banned for sockpuppeting, so you'll have to find someone else to annoy. ;) pfctdayelise (translate?) 17:41, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We should catch up sometime! Haven't seen Lena in ages either :(. Oh, and, huzzah! I actually was on the WINNING side in a political battle for once :) Snipergirl 18:29, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Snipergirl. I've enjoyed your contributions to the Melbourne Hospital articles. A question given your experience: which Melbourne hospital would you say is the BEST place to undertake physician training? Thanks in advance for your reply on this page.

Loserz

Hi,

I already posted my response at DRV, but I think you might have looked at the wrong AfD. The first one was overturned at DRV, and then relisted here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Loserz (second nomination). Best wishes, Xoloz 16:11, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MOS and citations

Hey there Down Under. Well done for your work on the article that is now called tobacco and health. I have replied to your message on WT:MED. Could I point out that when naming section headers one should avoid repeating the article title, and that lowercase is used for all words that are not proper names.

To produce citations to medical journal articles you need their PMID code. Most journal websites provide a link to the Pubmed abstract next to the abstract. On Pubmed, you will note the PMID code at the bottom of the page. To generate an automatically formatted reference, feed the PMID code into this applet on David Iberri's website. The results thus obtained can be copied & pasted into Wikipedia. I know this is a bit complicated, but the references look sterling this way. JFW | T@lk 15:31, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, me again. Well done on your hard work on ischaemic heart disease. You've certainly chosen some big topics in medicine, and I agree that this subject has been covered abysmally. Until recently, I frankly avoided the topic out of fear and lack of familiarity with the sources.
I should make you aware that we have an excellent article on myocardial infarction (which was not far removed from featured article status when last nominated in March). We also have coronary heart disease and angina pectoris and acute coronary syndrome. I think we need to be sure to crosslink those articles carefully, and to avoid duplication of edits. Finally, scrupulous sourcing is needed; ideally, every statement needs to be backed up with a reference. JFW | T@lk 20:28, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, one more link: WP:MEDMOS is a consensus outline for medical articles. JFW | T@lk 20:35, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
