WLTN AM History

The first FCC license renewal online shows WLTN AM was licensed as of 1982 to Profile Broadcasting Company[2]. Prior to 1996, WLTN was a 'local' News/Talk AM radio station.

In 1996, WLTN AM 1400 "News/Talk 1400" added satellite programming.[3]

Programming on WLTN AM 1400 "News/Talk 1400" remained satellite-fed until 1999 when the station was purchased by Sharp Broadcasting in September of 1999. [4]

WLTN AM 1400 remained in possession of Sharp Broadcasting until early 2003 when the station was LMA'ed (leased) to radio veteran Barry P. Lunderville,[5] with an option to buy.

Shortly thereafter, WLTN AM 1400 dropped its News/Talk "News/Talk 1400" format for an Oldies format spanning the early 1950s through the early 1970s.[6]

The license for WLTN was transferred to Barry Lunderville in June, 2005.[7]

Competition

As of October 2007, WLTN AM has no significant terrestrial competition in its coverage area for its 50's-70's Oldies format.[8]
