The Gloriagate scandal is a Philippine political scandal involving president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and her alleged connivance with Virgilio Garcellano, a Commission on Elections officer to commit fraud during the 2004 presidential elections. The controversy was sparked by the appearance of alleged wiretapped conversations between Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Virgilio Garcellano.

On June 27, 2005, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appeared to the public and admitted that she had a lapse in judgement and apologized to the public for the impropriety of the phone call to an election officer during the 2004 elections.
