Time War (Doctor Who)

Referred to on several occasions in the 2005 series of Doctor Who.

It was fought between Doctor Who's planet and the Daleks: there were only three survivors - the Doctor himself and two Daleks (who do not appear to know of each other's existence) - one seen in the eponymous episode and the Dalek emperor seen in The Parting of the Ways.

It appears that the Doctor was responsible for destroying the Daleks: all the Doctor's people were killed. Whether he chose not to encounter other time lords (thereby creating a temporal paradox if he said the wrong thing) or it was not possible to locate them is not made clear.
