Ohio State Highway 199 is a north-south highway in northwest Ohio. In the north, it meets U.S. Highway 20 in Perrysburg, Ohio; in the south, it meets U.S. Highway 23 just south of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

The route heads from Perrysburg to U.S. Highway 6, whose route it joins for a mile as it crosses the Portage River. It then continues south through West Millgrove, Ohio and into Fostoria, Ohio, where it joins U.S. 23. The highways share a route from Fostoria to Carey, Ohio, where 199 separates from 23. It then continues into Upper Sandusky.

History

Most of Ohio 199 was formerly the route of U.S. 23. Before 1966, Ohio 199 truncated at the south in Fostoria, followed most of the current route of U.S. 23, and truncated at the north just east of Toledo, Ohio. In 1966, Ohio 199 was extended along its current route to Upper Sandusky along U.S. 23's current route from Fostoria to Carey and its old route from Carey To Upper Sandusky. In 1969, it switched routes with U.S. 23 from Fostoria to Perrysburg.
