Lisa I'Anson (born 31 May 1965) is a British DJ and television presenter. She is best known for hosting her own radio show on BBC Radio 1 from 1994 until 1998, when she was notoriously sacked for clubbing in Ibiza, and subsequently not turning up for her radio show which was being broadcast live from the island. I'Anson susbsequently began presenting a regular discussion programme on BBC London 94.9 for a number of years. This reason for her sacking from Radio 1 is rumoured to have been 'the last straw' after a poorly received and frequently under prepared show in which Lisa regularly ran poor features and constantly tried to make herself appear to be 'in' with the rich and famous of the music world. On one, now infamous, occasion she claimed she had been to a Mark Morrison gig which was "wicked", however the gig had actually been cancelled at the last minute proving her to be simply lying.
Her other work includes many programmes on MTV, the MOBO Awards, Dear Dilemma for the BBC and the narrator of Sky One's Ibiza Uncovered and it's various follow up series.
In 2005, I'Anson took part in the third series of Celebrity Big Brother, she was the third person to be evicted when she left in a surprise eviction on Wednesday 19 January. She has most recently been seen taking part in ITV2's Deadline with chief editor Janet Street Porter with follows ten celebrities as they aim to write, edit and produce a celebrity based magazine which will be published as a supplement in Closer magazine. I'Anson was the second celebrity to be sacked from the magazine. Her mistake on the show was to presume that there was no work required other than turning up each day. Street-Porter accused her of being a fake, a point which was shown to be true with her four-letter tirade to her fellow contestants.
An experienced voice-over artist, I'Anson's distinctive vocal tone is frequently heard in a vast array of commercials and television documentaries. In 2006, she was heard as the voice of Vernon Kay's revival of Family Fortunes.
Lisa I'Anson's departure from BBC Radio 1 was discussed on Sara Cox's show for the same radio station (broadcast 21st April 2007). Sara mentioned that she saw Lisa shortly after the 'debacle' (Cox's words). According to Sara Cox, when asked if she was in trouble, I'Anson replied "What are they going to do, fire me?"
