Daniel Balavoine (born February 5, 1952 in Alençon - died January 14, 1986) is a French singer and songwriter. He was hugely popular in the French-speaking world, and inspired a lot of singers in the 1980's, such as Jean-Jacques Goldman. He took part in the french politics life, and is known for his intervention towards François Mitterrand in 1980 at the TV.
