Johnny Edward (sometimes known as 'John Edward') is probably best-known as the creator and voice of fictional robot TV character Metal Mickey.

In 1965 he (as Johnny Flux) was a member of The Manish Boys, playing guitar alongside David Bowie (then known as David Jones) on a cover of the R&B number I Pity the Fool. He went on to become a radio DJ, first with Radio City and then Radio London.

Along with his wife Sue, Edward wrote the Renée and Renato song Save Your Love, which topped the British music charts in December 1982.
