The South Austin Museum of Popular Culture is a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting art and memorabilia that reflect Austin's eclectic contributions to popular culture worldwide. The Museum is open to the public Thursdays through Sundays from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. during shows. Between times, visit us at http://www.samopc.org/ and on our MySpace at www.myspace.com/samopc

SAMOPC champions Austin, Texas artists who were mainly responsible for "weird" Austin. The museum is the subject of many articles in the Austin Chronicle, who gave the museum a "BEST OF AUSTIN AWARDS 2004: Best Place to Art Trip" award.

The New York Times included SAMOPC in a Frugal Traveler video from July 11, 2007. http://www.samopc.com/interior.htm
