History
The New South Wales State Basketball League allows several domestic basketball associations to participate in representative competition on a home and away basis. The league has undergone several changes over its many years, with divisions being introduced and removed. The most notable of these happened when Division 1 was changed to Premier Division in preparation for a New South Wales based Australian Basketball Association conference, to be named the Waratah League or Waratah Conference. Teams have previously been included from the Australian Capital Territory, in the for of A.C.T. Academy of Sport and the Canberra Nationals. Youth Leagues have tended to be centred around Sydney based clubs, and Division 2, now known as Division 1, has tended to be more country based.
The 2007 NSWSBL Finals were held at Sutherland on the weekend of 21st amd 22nd July, 2007. The event was shared with the ABA Waratah League finals weekend, of which the NSWSBL is a feeder league.
